There are two scenes of strong language: "blast" and "wretch"

This is still my favorite version of Little Women. Perfectly cast with luminous performance by beautiful Wynona Ryder, the book had been a childhood obsession. I saw this on Christmas Day when it premiered in theaters. It was a magical experience. Beautiful score, great chemistry among the actors. Lovely, fun, and very sad moments, just a great film. And Wynona deserved the Oscar for her work. Beautifully directed. Can’t say enough good things about this wonderful film. I still watch it every year at a Christmas.

Obviously they stated false reasons for the rating, but I’d agree PG or PG13 is a better rating for the movie as 1. It’s freaking incredibly sad, and absolutely devastated me as a child… and 2. Bc there is a heavy theme of being in love/not being in love& marriage etc throu the movie that isn’t inappropriate but maybe a little more mature than a full on g rated kids movie.

I watched this movie when i was like 8. That and Matilda (1996). Those were/are my favorite movies forever.

Maybe because of the youngest who I can’t remember the name of dies and also the fact that it every other scene at least in the new one makes people cry

Best movie ever. Had both my girls read the book then watch the movie once they were 12 and 13.

The 1994 adaptation of Little Women is my all-time favorite! It’s the closest to the book and has the heart and sentiment that Louisa May Alcott originally intended. I saw the 2019 adaptation and wasn’t a fan at all. They strayed too far from the original story. As far as I’m concerned watching the 1994 film is like eating comfort food or being wrapped in a warm blanket that just came out of the dryer. It puts me in my happy place no matter how many times I watch it. The only other movie that has the same affect is Pride & Prejudice.

I was 11 and if it was rated G i would of never wanted to watch it. But, it was pg . That rating and a young Victorian Christian bales made me wanna see it.

I could see why they would do that. Misleading, but who really cares. Cool vid.

Actually, Christian met Sibi at Winona's barbecue party in 1998 when Christian was playing Jesus for "Mary, Mother of Jesus"

The Princess Diaries is rated G, which has always confused me because of the whole scene where they make out and then the paparazzi takes pictures of her half naked. Slightly heavier than a G rating. So, it’s odd to hear this.

If you want your movie to sell, it has to be rated either PG or PG-13.
I think the very last G-rated live-action movie not aimed at children was 2002's "The Rookie" with Dennis Quaid.

More than likely due to their five time usage of the word "blast". Which in other countries (not US) it more or less means "damn". Yes, if you watch a movie that says "damn" enough it will be rated PG. That is the reasoning for it. Also, Jojo's attack on Amy could be partially the reason as well. It doesn't take much to get a PG rating.

Would it be better if it were a forced rating like Popeye or (as you recently noted) Planes, Trains and Automobiles?

Maybe it was all the making out happening that done it lmao

Will there be a reaction to 3D Ft Jack Harlow? Most of his current music seems very fun and lighthearted
