In short: While there are differing views on which one is more challenging (considering all factors including time pressure, exam depth, etc) its safer to say that CPTS may be more difficult than OSCP especially for those NEW in Penetration Testing.

The CPTS certification is harder than OSCP in all of sense although the 24 hours of OSCP is you against your mind and your time management.

A lot of OSCP holder or even OSEP holder have failed the CPTS (actually more than 90% of OSCP holders have failed in the past 2 year) due to 3 big reason below:

1st) CPTS exam is simulate the real life Pentest engagement (that's why the exam last 10 days) not like OSCP exam format is much similar like the CTF. So OSCP try-harder mindset have no power here.

2nd) the Webapp part in the exam is much more in-depth involved in the story-line (Unlike OSCP, you just need Nmap skill and ExploitDB poc with customize).Furthurmore, the CPTS exam is the simulation of both External Pentest and Internal(Assumed breach) pentest ..all in one place. Not just some set of 4-5 machine
=>To wrap up for this 2nd things :The CPTS knowledge path is SUITABLE FOR BEGINNER but THE CPTS EXAM ISN'T

3rd) HTB is expected a much more professional report (both content quality and template quality) must be apple to explain your attack method in machine perspective for non-technical people to understand .If you cannot do that, you will failed for sure

Do you think CPTS will become as recognised as OSCP? I have done some modules from HTB it is practical and more important it is affordable unlike OSCP.

This video is just wrong, CPTS is technically harder the reporting aspect of it is stricter and more realistic

After taking the CPTS I would not say it's easier than the OSCP. I get where you're coming from, but that's very misleading.

Youre one of the only people ive heard put OSCP in this light, general consensus is that its trash (considering the price tag). You do it for HR. I hear non-stop complaining from people taking OSCP of the terrible exam structure and awful learning format. Also never heard anybody say OSCP is harder, other than the fact then hide flags its....unrealistic places.
Not saying youre wrong, I am just saying that's my experience

Mate, Idefinitely disagree with almost everything with everything said in this video review. This is misguiding the people watching it. Have you actually taken the certifications? If yes, than it is strange weird what you are saying, if no then you need to take them both and then do a review. The only point which I agree with you s the recognition.

I also know that almost everyone that have taken the will agree with my opinion.
