Yeah, this year, Apple released not just one… but two new Watches. Like 2016 all over again but, instead of a Series 2 and Series 1, we’ve got a Series 6 and a not-Series SE.

I’ve already reviewed the Apple Watch Series 6, so now it’s time to dig into the Apple Watch SE. But… not how you might expect!

I found this 'SE' review way too confusing - as it seemed to be 50+% about the '6'. I had to keep rewinding to check which model you were talking about. It should've been titled "SE vs 6"

I don’t get why there’s so much mention of the series 6 in a “SE review”

1:40 - You should never buy a product on what is promised to come later. You buy what it has now. Sure the U1 chip has great potential, but it doesn't have any applications in the moment. The O2 sensor is spotty and gives bad readings. The SE lacks the always on display and the health sensors, but unless you have any major health problems, you will never use the O2 sensor or the ECG feature. But the SE still gets the irregular heart rhythm and heart rate notifications. The always on display will probably be the deciding factor for most people, but if you're like me, you're perfectly fine with raise to wake. The SE shares a lot of the same features with the Series 6, such as sleep tracking, the always on altimeter, and family sharing. The only differences are the always on display, U1 chip, and the O2 and ECG sensors. It's really up to you if those features are worth $130 more, but you should *never* buy a product based on future improvements.

I must be the only person who doesn’t care about AOD. Don’t see the point in battery drain when I’m not looking it at.

My girlfriend have the Series 6 and the “features” like the O2 sensor and ECG she doesn’t use it. She even disable the always on display to save battery. So I bought the SE and I can’t complain. Have all the features I need. By the way...change the name of the video To Series 6 vs SE because that was not a review and I love your videos by the way. Take care

Was there a difference in battery life?

Bought the SE last week since I felt that I did not need the blood oxygen or ECG app and the not always-on feature was not a dealbreaker since my old Fit-bit was not always on. Plus, since this is my first Apple Watch, I believe that after doing some research, I came to the conclusion that the SE would be a good “entry level model” but still have all the “bells and whistles” to be a premium product at a competitive price.

I mean you want an always on display because you don’t want to have to lift your arm to see what time it is? Or am I wrong on that?

Had a series 3 without the all ways on display. Still told the time fine, the raise to wake feature is very good. Wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me and shouldn’t be for most.

Hey thanks for the video! I got the Apple Watch SE 44mm earlier today. However, noticed the multitasking button does not work - like once in 100 tries it opens the multitasking (or acts properly to download an app or activate Apple Pay), 10 times it goes to the Power Off / Emergency menu and nearly always just nothing happens... I suppose it is faulty and I need to pay Apple a visit. Correct? So unfortunate...

Can I make iwatch SE screen always on?

I’ll stick with the SE. The ECG and Blood oxygen monitoring seems to be inconsistent and honestly not a priority for me. Also, an always on display is just unnecessary. Any time I want to see my watch, it lights up from my wrist movement. Always on is more of a gimmick in my opinion.

i have the apple watch series 5 and, i'm not going to upgrade because of blood oxygen measurement and automation detection added to the series 6. i'm good. but i'm asking a if the sensor light on our skin at almost all time is okay, if there is no negative consequence because of it 🤔.

Quickly question: with apple music and apple news subscriptions do I have the habilility to listen through my LTE apple watch without the need of the iPhone? Those services are stand alone? Thanks in advance

So, the SE can’t detect my heart rate at all? I want only a handful of workout features for my smart watch: a pedometer, a heart rate tracker, and MAYBE the ability to track how many flights of stairs I’ve gone up. Can the SE do that?

Quick note - in the UK the Series 6 price is £20 lower than the Series 5 was across all skews, with the 5 watt adapter costing £19 so it looks like some markets are getting the savings passed along but others aren’t for some reason?
