I stopped buying packaged meals and cook at home from what ever is on sale that week. If it isn't on sale I don't buy it. Sausage on sale for $2.99 a pound and I bought 20 pounds to stock in the freezer. That's protein for 40 meals.

Shrinkflation is not captured in inflation numbers so “Real Inflation” is likely much higher than reported. They should also look into manufacturers for price gouging through shrinking quantities of their products! Make them prove the higher costs compared to the reductions, many which include higher prices too…. Back in 2021 I noticed the toilet paper roll’s width shrunk by ~1/2 inch as well as the sheet reduction at a higher price. I demonstrated to my wife the empty tubes to show the scam more visibly. They did it again a few years later but not as much of a width reduction.
