I believe that an investor should buy shares in companies that are successful in all economic conditions, and geopolitical events. Interest rates are beyond a company's or an investor's control. If a security has great fundementals and barriers to entry, interest rates, and external events don't really matter through the business cycle. ATD is a good example.
