So much beauty. And some farts.

My guitar courses are available within the Guitareo membership :)
Also, my beginner course, GuitarQuest, is still available on its own too

The channel is supported in part by Sweetwater’s affiliate program. Thanks for that!

Dude invites a professional harp player to teach him how to play... immediately starts teaching her new stuff and she's fascinated by it. Love ths channel so much.

Rob’s ability to adapt to any instrument, even when he knows nothing about it, is astounding.

Rob has completed the main story of musicianship and he is now doing all the side missions

Harp is one of the few instruments that sound so good that beginners, practicing, actually sound, if not great, at least good. When I used to play I’d sit out on my deck to practice, until it started to get too cold. A month or so after I’d moved practice indoors I met my neighbor outside and she said she missed hearing me practice. I apologised and said I hoped I hadn’t disturbed her and she was like “oh no, it was lovely. I miss it” it was nice to hear as a beginner lol

I've never met a harpist that let other people mess with their harps. They are so ridiculously valuable and those strings are surprisingly expensive. So props to you Emily!

The politeness with which Rob asked “Can I get as much distortion as possible, please?” is so wholesome and hilarious

You should totally get some of these people in on an "album in a day" project. Harp, theremin, singing saw, modular synths, who knows where you'd end up...

I love how sweet she is and open to new techniques that technically shouldn’t be used on harp the “my teacher would hate this” is too relatable lmaooo

I love seeing Rob "invent" new instrument techniques.

My favorite thing Rob halfway invented was the new Hypertapping method for competitive Tetris

Emily: But who's playing way down there?

Rob's Audience: DOES IT DJENT

I genuinely hope Rob is collecting all the “learn from” musicians and forming like Voltron to make a massive record/song with all of them together on it. Just imagining everything from harp to saw to glass and Rob whispering “I love my moooom” over it. PS Emily ruuuules!

A video game company seriously needs to sign her up to do a soundtrack.

I love how Rob just naturally brings out the beauty of Metal in instruments you would have never thought would be capable of producing the needed sounds

Rob showing Emily how to do the guitar and bass techniques, and her saying her teacher would hate them reminds me of the story of Harpo Marx- he apparently was entirely self-taught on harp, and as such managed to figure out entirely new ways of playing- to the point that, supposedly, later in life when he could afford harp lessons, his teachers didn't want to change his method of playing and instead incorporated a lot of HIS techniques into their repertoire.

A harpist with a bigger and better pedal rig than most guitarists. She's incredible and very sweet too. The bitcrushed delay synth bits work so beautifully with the harp's natural tone. Rob is clearly very moved at one point, his eyes glaze a bit, it's adorable.

"Oh, Rob doing a harp video? Cool!"
"AND IT'S EMILY HOPKINS?!?"
This day just got so much better.

The amount of smiling, joy and passion in this video is just outstanding. Emily is an absolute gem and can't wait to watch her videos and listen to her work!
Seeing the sharing of technique and the geeking out over it all just makes me so freaking happy.

The distortion section is absolutely badass.

Rob and Emily please make an album?! Please?
