#Offers #Salary #SalaryNegotiation

What is the ONE PHRASE you can use to seal the deal in your salary negotiation? Never fear - Amy's got you! Ok, it's really common sense, and you may not be totally ready to say it, but this phrase WORKS!

Oh, and in case you're NOT that committed? We got you covered. Take a peek into the mind of a recruiter who's made LOTS of offers and knows all the tricks. Repeating the obvious isn't one of them, FYI.

Wish I saw this an hour ago lol! I just accepted an offer at new company. I’m actually thrilled with the offer though. I gave them a salary range I’d accept, and they offered my $5k above the top of my range. Benefits are also great. No complaints! 😀

I stumbled upon your videos when looking for another Amy Miller but just have to tell you that I love your no-nonsense recruiting advice. Retired after 43 years of recruiting, I wholeheartedly agree with all of your advice to candidates on how to make it a win-win, low-drama situation.

I actually said that on two different instances for two very different companies and both times, the recruiters straight away said nope, can't go any higher. Tried my best to negotiate and advocate for myself and my accomplishments but didn't help much at all. This was last year after I saw all your videos when I was preparing for interviews.

Great point that people are going to "learn throughout the process'" when it comes to their expectations towards salary to accept the role -- the key is communication with the recruiter as they're there to help you!

I will use the "strongly consider" verbage. I had a tough conversation with the recruiter last night so I don't think I could get away with a full-on walk away price. Thank you again for your help!

Thanks for your straightforward, no-nonsense, common sense advice on a tricky topic. I'll definitely put this in my toolbox for my next interview!

Great video, but te reason why I would hesitate to say a specific number is because of the fear that I might ask for less than what the company can give me. Please make a video on how to decide the amount to ask for.

Hey Amy :)

Wanted to offer some insight into the "people will not share their salary expectations with me" comment if no one has done so for you yet. I have dealt with that a LOT as a candidate. I don't like sharing those details because that's 98% of the time what disqualifies me from an opportunity before I even really get considered OR my salary expectation is WAY too low and the employer takes advantage of that.

In either case, I have learned that talking about salary expectations with recruiters is a BAD idea. At least until they tell me what they're offering and what the role entails. Then I can decide what the minimum price point would be for me to take on the role.

Hi! I just came across your channel, so much amazing content. Thank you! I had a quick question, do you recommend I tell other companies I'm interviewing with that I received an offer and have by xx date to accept?

How about the case where there's multiple offers. Let's say as an example I have 3 offers: 100K, 150K, and 200K. I'd like to give every company a chance to better the offer of the other companies every single time the highest bidding offer changes, but at the same time I'm afraid that recruiters will take offense at that, if the highest bidding offer changes multiple times. How should I address this situation?

Hi everyone, trying gauge salary ranges for a Scrum Master new to the role (1-2 years) versus someone who has 5+ years into the role in an city like LA/NYC be?

Hi Amy! I was wondering, do you have any thoughts on getting the hiring manager involved if they really want you to join, but the final offer is still ~15-20% off the mark?

I like your method of negotiation, it removes the games. For me, TC negotiation is the worst segment of the process.
