It needs an interior shot of the poor person's house that is unrealistically spacious and the only indicator of poverty is a slightly worn couch.

As a rich man, I can confirm I've never eaten a cheeseburger. I live exclusively on caviar and champagne.

Damn the working class guy gets me. I too love cheeseburgers

Having rich execs sign off on a class commentary movie is like asking your boss whether you're allowed to strike for better working conditions.

The worst things about these movies is when the critics don’t even call them annoyingly obvious.

You forgot “brought to you by: Amazon, Apple, Disney, and Sony.”

Working class guy is so relatable. All that's left is that he is always made fun of by the other characters for not having as much money. But don't make it obvious.

Ok but that scene where he made the cheeseburger was delicious.

so basically they even capitalized anti-capitalism as a new trend and brand.

Can't believe he actually (insert lazy observation suggesting implausibly difficult or extreme production necessity) just for this video. Such dedication.

I love when these “eat the rich” movies win the top prize at Cannes Film Festival and the very people that these movies are supposedly skewering are giving it a standing ovation, before going to their decadent yacht parties on the French Riviera.

Thing I loved about The Menu is that it didn't take the cannibal route that I thought it would

Wouldn’t put Parasite in the same category as the others personally, I thought it had a lot more nuance behind it and wasn’t just a superficial “look at those silly rich people”

Everybody's wanting to eat Rich these days, poor guy.

Definitely Edward Norton's impression was accurate, I think he would be proud that you are carrying his thing

I interpreted The Menu as being a rejection of working class guilt and nihilism and I choose to continue interpreting it that way. Chef Slowik's description of smores like some affront to god gives me the impression of some snob explaining why it's actually *your* fault that the ocean is dying and Amazon workers have to pee in bottles. "We have to change society, but blaming ourselves for every problem won't change anything" is a better message than "rich people bad".

I appreciate Man pointing out that these movies' "social commentary" mostly boils down to "it's fine and normal that billionaires EXIST, they just shouldn't be JERKS, ya know??"

Those movies are the rich executive equivalent of a teacher putting a late 2000s meme in their PowerPoint presentation to make it more “relatable”

Eat the rich movies have always given me the same vibe as people selling Che Guevara merch.
