I rescued a sweet senior love that looks exactly like this little one. He is the absolute love of my life. He was an extreme abuse case, and spent 2 months in the hospital in recovery before I brought him home. They thought he might make it 6 months. 5.5 years later and sweet Sammy is full of life and adventure... he just needed love and a reason to live. ❤ please don't overlook the elder or the wounded when you are looking to save a life. ❤

I had a very damaging childhood. The bad thing is, it leaves the child inside you very damaged, even if you are functioning. The child in you stays like that dog. I have been like that for decades and since you did not know better, you do not even know this is not normal. The utter assurance that everything, everyone in the world is out there to harm you.
I completely agree with your words, about how much a bit of love can go a long way. I recognize how that dog feels a lot. Thank you so much for helping these dogs. How you treat them is all I need to know about you, to say you are a wondeful human. Thank you! so much. It is nice to know there is this kind of good in this world.
We have a dog on our own, from a shelter, a very timid boy, but he is growing and growing more secure. We grew together. I learned so much thanks to him. We are still struggling, but happy.

I recently adopted a bonded pair of senior dogs. I lost my dog Snickers of 13 years last Christmas and made her a promise that I wouldn’t let her friend Copper be lonely. I also promised her that I would make sure another dog had a loving home. This senior pair has settled in nicely.
