It is not a steak. It is for braising or stewing. Great for pot roast, not steak.

That would be awesome in a slow cooker with carrots and potatoes.

I love using bottom round for rice and gravy. Cut it into small pieces and let it cook for 4 hours and serve over rice. Delicious simple cajun dish.

Stir fry. Marinade really thin slices in baking soda. Cut against the grain.

So, im a butcher in a hispanic grocery store, if you slice it super thin and throw it in a fry pan its not terrible

Separate at the seam, remove the rump as a roast, and then cut the remainder against the grain getting stew and just a few steaks. Clean the wedge that was removed and either sell it as a tiny roast or make stew/ cube steak.

If you thin slice it, cut it into strips against the grain, and marinade it in something that contains either shredded apple or pear (or normal meat tenderizer) overnight, it actually makes really good Korean bbq. It's one of the cheapest cuts of beef at my local Walmart and if it's gonna be marinaded with a tenderizer of some sort overnight, it doesn't matter how tough it is, lol. If it's still too chewy for your liking after marinading though (cook a test strip), beat it with a can of soup or a rolling pin for a few minutes and try again. I personally prefer a really lean cut of meat for KBBQ though.

Picked up a couple bottom round steaks. Yes, they were tough, but they had amazing flavor.

I love smoking an eye round. I inject beef tallow, butter, coconut aminos, and Worcestershire sauce .I let it marinade for 24 hours, and it's super tinder and flavorful.

Thin sliced you can make great tacos.
Its a generally favored cut for mexican cuisine.

We go through about 10 cases a week, round steaks, rumps and bottom round roast

Trim like shown, leave it whole, inject with seasoned tallow and smoke like a brisket.

Cut against the grain after you cut off the rump roast. Stir fry out the small side of the wedge.
