Sometimes my ex covert Narc would just walk into a room, slam cabinets while staring at me with a death stare for literally no reason then would go in his bedroom and lock the door until I'd just leave his apartment. I'd literally cry in my car wondering what in the world happened out of absolutely nowhere! It was completely maddening.

The covert I divorced was always silently raging about something. Having a covert mom meant I knew to go bust myself with something else. When his rage didn’t get to me as much as he wanted, he went after our children. Not even my mom would stand for that.

He turned very sociopathic. Now, when he’s angry, he smiles. A big toothy grin like The Grinch about to steal Christmas. If you see a covert smiling, know they just figured out their evil plan and you are about to get the worst of it if you are not careful.

It has been shocking to learn that his behavior is so awfully stereotypical and I had no idea that this kind of person even existed. What a lamb to the slaughter I was. Yoked for over 40 years and literally fled for my life. He swore to destroy me, and did through my adult children. Five years later, with therapy and the support of family and friends who knew far more than I thought they did, thank goodness, I am in peace and thriving. Permanent protection order.

Exactly. The unexpected rage was always out of left field with no logical reason or cause, and truly scary. It was like he became an entirely different person. Even his voice changed. He was a wild card, so I never knew what was next. So grateful to finally be out of that. 🙏

After screaming and ranting at me my ex would often jump in the car, rev the hell out of the engine and then would fly off up the road speeding and fishtailing all over the place sometimes leave big black tyre marks on the road and then he wouldn't answer his phone for ages after he had implied that he would kill himself. I leaned in the end not to try and ring or text him. I would just leave him be and and he would be angry that I wasn't contacting him wondering where he was and if he was ok and when he came back hours later I would act like nothing had happened . He didn't like that his tactics weren't working on me anymore. I'm so glad I don't have that in my life anymore.
