Destiny 2's latest expansion, Lightfall, has just released and with it a slew of changes and new weapons. We got our hands on the new exotic, Deterministic Chaos, and had to see what kind of DPS it was putting out. We paired it against some of the BEST heavy dps currently in the game. DPS test videos can never be too long, they're incredibly valuable sources of info for damage numbers. Sure there's excel spreadsheets, but with a video we can see the setup and payoff in action as opposed to simply having flat damage values. It's good for visual representations of how the values are achieved and under what conditions they can be applied under.

The new MG feels like its more of a good anti-Champion weapon than a DPS weapon

I feel like Leviathan's Breath should get a second look. It's gotten a damage buff this season (plus 30% extra damage against champions on top of that) as well as inherently making a target volatile on perfect draws. Couple that with the archers tempo from the catalyst and I think it can do numbers

I think the best ones will be:
Grand overture if the boss has no weak spot or the DPS phase is very short
Izzy + rockets for your basic & boring stationary DPS phases
Xenophage if we have a very mobile boss
Swords & berserker super if bungie somehow lets us get close to the boss again :D

Would have liked to have seen thunderlord with actium. The new ammo buffs helped it a ton because it has always had low reserves.

Sleeper was a bit of a sleeper with that 700k. Impressive considering it was straight damage and well. Toss a couple fusions as well in a longer damage window and I think it’s meta.

Things that would be nice to test: Cataclysmic Witherhoard, Wendigo EL with Izanagi/cloudstrike, twintail w/ catalyst

I would like to input that Polaris Lance drops 60 stacks at a time with the explosive shot and Ember of Ashes, so it may be an extremely good dps primary

To be fair I feel like the new exotic LMG is more in line with something like divinity, but with more damage and without the crit bubble. We gotta test if the extra damage from the LMG would be worth the trade

Something weird is going on with boss health bars since the update. At 2:59 you do a total of 594k damage and remove MORE of the health bar than at 3:36 when you do 771k damage

You connected only 3/5 Deathbringer shots. Just based on the timing, I estimate that you could have fired your first volley ~1.5 seconds before popping the shield and possibly connected a DIRECT hit on your fifth. With that first volley landing as soon as the shield popped, four hits would have put your damage at ~705, 000. Hard to say if the 5th straight shot would have connected in time, but you could have hit near 800K.

For those doing the legendary campaign or whatever, Iz burden one shots the tormentors shoulders then two shots kills them after. Really good for final mission
