The rise of the researchED phenomenon, why it is important for
teachers to be research engaged, some of the pitfalls that presents, and what this model
suggests about the future of the teaching profession.

Tom Bennett, teacher in London UK, started researchED in 2013 as a way to raise research literacy in the teaching profession, and has seen it grow into an international movement. In 2015 he was a top 50 finalist in the Global Teacher award, and is one of the Huffington Post's '12 best global bloggers.' He chairs the UK Department for Education's behaviour group, and regularly appears in press and the media promoting teacher professionalism. He writes a weekly column for the Times Educational Supplement and has written four books for teachers.
