I would also point out that PoE would work better with the higher gauge 6A vs the 6.

I’m finishing a room in my basement and running around 40 feet of Ethernet cable in the walls. The house was built four years ago and is wired with both Cat6 and Cat5e. Is there a benefit of me choosing Cat6a over Cat6 in such a short distance? Also, should I run Cat8 instead to future proof? Or, just add a conduit?

Question. Running a 150 ft cat6 cable can be SO frustrating. I can't run it out of the box because I'm usually running it through tight spaces. So I have to run a long cat6 cable that is constantly twisting, catching, looping, knotting and tangling the whole way. Half my time is spent untangling wire, smoothing out crimps and folds and un hooking the wire frome snagging on everything. What am I doing wrong?!?!?

In Germany Cat 7 is standard. It is overkill but it is future proof.

Redundant information/opinion. If you are installing a structured cabling network for a business, no matter the size, you install Cat6a for current and future performance. Just because a business isn't pushing 10gig now doesn't mean they won't be in 10 to 20 years which is the length most of these installs will be certified for. Only use lesser cables if the business refuses to update their hardware to support Cat6a and remind them that you will be back in a few years to make it Cat6a anyway.
