Why has life been so cruel to such a precious baby? At just six months old, this sweet boy is battling a myriad of life-threatening health conditions. He's grappling with dislocated knees and a heart murmur, teetering on the brink of health failure, which prevents him from living a normal life. When his owners could not afford his intensive care, he was given to us, turning his entire world upside down.

Tiny Tim's story truly tugs on our heartstrings. Arriving at our care as an owner surrender, he was too sick for them to manage. But they loved him dearly and wanted what was best for him, hence bringing him to our rescue, where we could provide him the help he needed. Since the very beginning, his fragile condition raised alarms. It quickly became apparent that his journey to recovery would be far from simple.

Tiny Tim, at such a young age, is in immense discomfort day in and day out. But being so new to this life, it’s likely that this discomfort is all he really knows. Both of his knees are dislocated, causing him immense pain and difficulty in getting around. In fact, it’d be best if he kept the pressure off his legs entirely. The condition, known as patella dislocation, means he cannot place his feet down properly and would keep them elevated if he could. Compounding his struggles is a severe heart condition—a congestive heart murmur indicative of heart failure. He also has a large forehead, which is a sign of hydrocephalus, in which fluid builds up in the brain.

Upon reaching the Hollywood Animal Hospital, we were informed that surgery could not be performed yet because of his young age and his fragile heart. The specialists at the emergency clinic were astounded by the gravity of his condition. We all wanted to free him from this pain, but his heart simply cannot endure the stress of anesthesia necessary for leg surgery. Therefore, our focus remains on managing Tiny Tim’s symptoms and stabilizing his condition, providing him with the love and care he might not have known otherwise.
