Charlie is a gentle and affectionate one-year-old puppy who went on an unexpected journey that changed his life forever.

After escaping from his loving home, he vanished for a grueling three weeks. When he finally returned, he was a mere shadow of his former self, both physically and emotionally.

We were tagged in a heartfelt Facebook post by Charlie's owner, who tearfully revealed the unimaginable ordeal he had endured. Charlie had lost his foot and was shockingly underweight, leaving his devastated owner unable to afford the necessary medical care. Recognizing the urgency, we swiftly intervened and reached out to Charlie's owner to offer a lifeline.

Our initial evaluation revealed the harsh reality that Charlie's foot was degloved, leaving only two middle toes intact. Our trusted veterinarian concluded that his foot was beyond repair and must be amputated up to his hip. Charlie's condition is grave, and immediate intervention is vital to save his life and provide him with the future he deserves.

Despite the agony he endures, Charlie's resilient spirit continues to shine through. The veterinary staff describes him as exceptionally sweet, a testament to his unwavering love and trust in humans. Their efforts to capture a video of Charlie walking only confirmed his heartbreaking struggle. He desperately tries to hide his leg, a symbol of his unwarranted pain and suffering.

Our compassionate team is committed to giving Charlie the second chance he deserves. To ensure his successful surgery and recovery, we will provide him with top-quality care every step of the way. Before the life-changing surgery, Charlie will be boarded, receiving the necessary antibiotics, pain medication, and proper nourishment to stabilize his fragile condition. In addition, he will be neutered, vaccinated, and undergo a thorough heartworm test. Pre-op blood work will be conducted to ensure his overall health and readiness for the surgery that will transform his life.

Charlie's journey to recovery will be long and arduous, but we firmly believe that every dog deserves a chance at a happy and pain-free life. To make this possible, we humbly request your generous contributions. Your donations will directly fund Charlie's surgery, medications, boarding, vaccinations, and comprehensive care that will pave the way for his emotional and physical healing.

By supporting our fundraising campaign, you become Charlie's hero. Imagine him running joyfully, despite his missing limb, embracing the love and care he so desperately craves. Your generosity will restore his faith in humanity and show him that he is deserving of love, compassion, and a forever home where he can thrive.

Please consider showing sweet Charlie how much he's loved by donating to his lifesaving medical fund. Let's give him the chance to run freely, play joyfully, and experience the love and care that every living being deserves. Together, we can rewrite Charlie's story and show him that the world can be a beautiful place once again. Your kindness and compassion will make all the difference in his life.

They wouldn’t have to put him down over that! There are 3 legged dogs and cats that function just fine. But I really would love to know how that injury happened?

It's sad but could be that the owner can't afford the surgery. I don't think it's an easy decision to make

Thats a shame…i had to put my cat down friday bc i couldnt afford a surgery to removed some stones that had formed (one was in his urethra causing a blockage meaning he NEEDED surgery) still hurts, 9 years i had Maxie. If you know the owner or have a way to contact them tell them itll be okay. Things happen that are out of our control and we have to make do with what we can. Not sure if little buddy here was put down hopefully not but regardless all owners eventually will see their lil buddies again. Whether it be in the life after this or that same cat or dog finds itself in a other cat or dogs body. And makes its way back to us. (That lil last bit is my personal belief. I believe my first cat rigby will come back at some point as another cat untill he finds me or i die and we both pass on to the next life. Soul mate sorta thing but with animals yknow?
