Excellent video Austin! I took your advice and stopped using special sales and coupons (except for free shipping). I also lowered my prices a bit. You make some excellent points. Happy new year!

I dig your grind, Austin. You're relaxing, you get right to the point, and you have legitimately great info. that doesn't waste time. SUBBED! Please don't ever fall into the paid infomercial crap that so many other photography channels have fallen into!

Thanks for the video Austin, moving from hobby photography into making my own website and small business. Probably won't make a lot but it's what I love to do, this video was very informative.

Hey, Austin really good information thank you for the video. What’s your opinion about selling framed fine art prints vs something like a canvas or metal print?

Limited edition has a climbing price model. Say you do a 25 print run, ..the 1/25 may cost 1000 dollars, then the price increases with each print to say 15000 for the 25/25 the buyers looking for the bargain will be your first buyers, the last buyers are in because you sold 15 or more prints and the work has value.

I'm glad I found your
channel, with my
recommendations.
I would love to get
some advice from you.
How can I show you
a sample of my work?

thanks for the video Austin! I want to ask, since I have zero social media presence, the whole premise seems to revolve around 1 person-1 website to sell stuff. Why instead won't people "combine efforts", i.e. several people-1 "site", since that would give everyone more exposure while also increasing the quantity of photos, since individual people can get busy/etc and not have time for photography that particular week/month, is this a crazy idea?

Any thoughts on printing your own photos vs using a local or online print shop? I've thought about investing in a printer in order to have control over my own inventory for art shows/festivals but I know that's an expensive option and mainly limits me to selling paper prints. What are your thoughts?

Great video. I am always struggling with pricing. What would you price the following CANVAS prints:
20"x30" with 1.5" gallery wrap
24"x36" with 1.5" gallery wrap
40"x60" with 1.5" gallery wrap
Thanks

I get the gist of what you're saying, but it's very narrow in scope while making sweeping generalizations.

If the photography is of high enough quality and resonates with photo buyers, there's absolutely no reason that a photographer couldn't sell their "limited edition" work on-line through their website AND in galleries.

We live on a day and age where artwork can be shipped to every corner of the globe. The SAME artwork that sells in a gallery can be shipped from the artist's home.

I give the same response when someone wants to buy my prints. I struggle to know what to say when someone asks how much my photos are

*there are a lot of websites that handle the whole order/print process for you*
doesn't provide one example..

Interesting. Regarding online sales: I avoid uploading full-size images anywhere online because I don't want them stolen / used without permission. I upload downsized versions. How can I protect my images while allowing customers to use a web-shop to order prints (from the full-size images)?
Note: I have experienced that Facebook does everything they can to NOT show your commercial page unless you pay them to do so. Obviously their business model wants you to pay them. But starting out, my experience is that if you set up a page, and even if you like and follow many other people and pages, you will get virtually no traffic ... unless you pay FB. This has been a complete failure for me.

Who do you recommend printing your images through? All the photographers in my area just say they use Costco. There has to be something more professional, right?
