Does thinking about God and church stress you out? Does it give you anxiety? Has your religious upbringing caused you more fear and trauma than joy and peace? This video has good news for you.

If you grew up in church, you know your church has buzz phrases. One of them in my church was "Be ye perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." Jesus said it so it has to be true - right? But truth is a funny thing. There is for certain the things Jesus said but there is also the possible chasm between what He meant by what He said and what we think or were taught He meant. Often that chasm can be bridged by simply looking at the context and boy does the context change what Jesus meant compared to what I was raised to think He meant. It's hard with gusts up to impossible to have any idea what Jesus meant without taking the big picture into consideration. Yesterday I listened to an atheist explain the teachings of Jesus better than Christians often do. How tragic and embarrassing is that? Welcome back to part 5 of exploring how to get in step with Jesus.

Interesting you should release this video today because me and my parents were just discussing this exact topic last night in the context of the close of probation. Great take on the verse!

Greetings. Good understanding. I think I have been there. 12 years in, now out, going forward, following the true Jesus. Amen.

Spot on! Our original parents were created in God’s image, and were told to be fruitful and multiply, prior to the Fall. It was, and has always been, God’s purpose for mankind to reflect His perfect image of mercy and grace throughout all creation. Jesus was sent to reclaim, redeem, and restore that original image in mankind. Through faith and union with Christ Jesus, that perfection can now be made possible again. See 2 Corinthians 3:16-18.

This was spot on. I mean, other than the driving on the left side of the road in England bit, which is just objectively and undeniably wrong. :)

Extremely important:
Hi brother, it’s important that you not isolate the statements of the anointed one in The New Testaments, and over looking where he got them from:

Genesis 17:1 (KJV) And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Deuteronomy 18:13 (KJV) Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Matthew 5:48 (KJV) Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
