The Caribbean King BRIAN LARA Achieved Big Records In His Superb Career. In the late 70s till the end of 80s West Indies known as the giants of cricket produced so many great players like Sir, Garfield Sobers, Michael Holding, Gordon Grinadge and Sir. Vivian Richards. But one man in the decade of 90s who established himself as an Icon in the history of West Indies cricket is no other then the great left handed batsman, BRIAN LARA. Lara is the most Successful Carribean batsman in the history of cricket, he prove himself as a back bone for West indies cricket. Lara gives the new way of batting with his marvellous ability and technique and set the new trend for all, he became the first player ever to made 400* runs in the history of test cricket before that inning Lara were scores 375 runs in his credit. Brian Lara will always be remembered for his outstanding and brilliant performances. West Indies had become a vulnerable side in the 2000s and were being dominated by England on their own soil in the 2004 series. The visitors had pummelled West Indies up to the third Test of the series, winning all the matches easily to take an unassailable 3-0 lead.
West Indies had failed to put up any sort of resistance against the vastly superior English bowling line-up comprising of the likes of Andrew Flintoff, Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard and Simon Jones. Lara himself was troubled by a bodyline attack by the English quartet.
Entering the final Test, Lara commented that "the next five days are very important in terms of my future as captain. No captain, no team, wants to go down for the first time in their history as losing all their Test matches at home”.
