Crysis 4 - What Do We Really Want To See?

Crytek isn't what it was in 2007 or even in 2013. After Cevat almost ran the company into the ground all the talent has left and their financial backing will probably also not be substantial enough to provide what we all want. Let's hope I'm wrong but the remastered versions of the old games do not bode well for what is to come...

They aren't the same company and they lost their identity after Crysis1. The fact that they launched C1 remastered with so much missing or wrong from the original just shows the attention for detail and institutional knowledge left over there. They started chasing trends. They dropped Crysis Wars which I thought was a very unique cool battlefield like experience and replaced with a barebones COD clone with Nanosuits. They doubled down on aliens and removed the freeroam/freeform approach of the originals.

Crysis's magic for me was those first few levels in Crysis 1 that made you feel like the Predator hunting humans. It was never fun with aliens, and reducing its scope and size in 2 and 3 further pushed it into losing its identity. Those games aren't awful and have great moments, but nothing like that feeling from the first few hours of Crysis 1.

I'd just do a reboot honestly. Get rid of the aliens, make it a full blown predator simulator. Turn the suit powers up to 11, let you jump across treetops, super jump... Lean into the simulation and physics, make the jungle destruction part of the experience. Rework Crysis Wars or think of something unique that plays better with the Nanosuit. Deliver on visuals. Its a disgrace Full ray traced lighting was done first by Metro series and Fortnite, not Crytek.

I love the series, even 2 and 3 despite my critique, but the same people aren't there anymore. Companies are those teams of talent, the games are their vision. Without the same talent, its unlikely anything good will come from Crysis 4 unless the new devs appreciate Crysis.

Hoping they bring back the full suit mode selection wheel.

By “streamlining” the suit modes, you’re no longer selecting speed as a specific ability for the immediate situation, you’re just a guy who runs kinda fast whenever you want. Same thing with strength, you’d select strength for increased accuracy and melee power at the cost of suit energy, streamlining it just makes you a guy who punches really hard every 8 seconds.

I'll die happily as a old man experiencing another crysis. What the engine was capable of during the pc, 360 and ps3 days was insane. Let's get another one in the series.

Suit modes will be unlockable via premium battle pass progression.

I would personally love to see hitman style levels that really take advantage of the Nano-Suit and encourage a lot of experimentation

Playing crysis 2 is still one of my favorite campaigns I played for the 360 era

I agree with Richard. Maybe this would make other Devs stop making PC an after thought. Just make it PC exclusive 1st with the ground breaking features, then make a scaled down version for Consoles.

I still vividly remember seeing Crysis at my friend's place running on an 8800GT, my mind was completely blown. Within a few days I had built my first PC with a 9800GT/Core 2 Duo and my life was never the same.

In addition; make it so that Cell are the good guys and portal technology isn't a gameplay element but part of the story in which you travel to Ceph planet.

Ooh also start with an essentially stripped down nanosuit and gradually add features.

add the amazing destruction technology from Crisis 1 the music from Crysis 2 and the path choices from Crysis 3

NVidia should subsidize the game like EGS in return for having a game that incentivizes people to upgrade GPUs.
