I don’t know why, but this reminds me of an old “motivational” story. A kid is playing baseball by himself and he’s doing the whole, bottom of the 9th down by 1 deal. He throws the ball up, swings the bat and misses. Strike one he says. He throws the ball up, swing and a miss. Strike two. And of course, strike three. So he keeps going, throwing the ball up 3 more times, swing and a miss every time. Rather than be defeated for not being able to hit the ball he yells “ladies and gentlemen, the world’s greatest pitcher!”
