I retired back in 2002 at 80%. That was increased to 90% I believe around 2012 and then increased to 100% in 2021 for basically the same conditions I claimed back in 2002! However a few of the conditions I claimed back when I retired the VA denied me until 2021! Did they backpay to 2002? Nope. I got a few months backpay but that was it. Some of my running buddies say I should contest it. Go all the way back to 2002. However some others say "don't poke the bear". The backpay would be nice cause I haven't been able to work since around 2015 but I got the 100% so maybe I should just leave it alone.

That’s so funny I had just set my phone down and kept the video playing to help out and left to do something else- how did you know!

Question brother. Hypothetical … say I’m 100% already and start having more new health problems that could be related to other service connected issues I’m already rated on, is it worth going back and opening the can of worms with the VA? I’ve been 100% over 10 years now. I don’t want to stir the hornets nest…. The only rational reason I can think of that I would and to make a new claim is if I die, this could be on my death certificate as a secondary cause of death and help my spouse retain compensation. I also never filed a claim for burn pit exposure although I clearly have related health conditions because of it from Iraq. The VA sucks and I need the compensation to survive… thanks

Drs, letters, record, buddy letters, yrs in the jungles still denied. My national guard friend got 40.pct for his back. With buddy letters. Mine said they were no records that say it happened. His neither, so how does that work?

Does audit for back pay open an new claim? If you 100 P&T does that “open the can of worms”?

Question sir, being that I'm 100% T and P how does IIS or SSDI work in my favor. Would it be worth it for me or leave it alone, I hear many Veterans have to pay back to the VA

If you do an audit of backpay, can they take away the benefits you do have? My wife feels like she wasn't paid correctly for back pay but we were told to let it go because if the VA gets any reason to look into something they will try to downgrade you.

I would Consider it a Benefit if I Received My Medication On Time... Was at the VA Monday Nov 28 830AM and they said they would "Overnight" My Insulin... This Being the 5th Time in the Past 1.5 Months and Now being Tuesday 830PM and Still Not Here...
