Discounted and STILL Can't Sell... NEW 2024 Toyota Tacomas COLLECTING DUST?

Seriously, this blows my mind. The brand new 2024 Toyota Tacoma just started hitting dealership lots a month ago... Normally, whenever Toyota offers a full new redesign version of their trucks or SUVs, they sell in a heartbeat or are pre-sold for a year plus. I have seen several of you post photos of Toyota lots with several brand new 2024 Tacomas just sitting, often discounted slightly, yet not moving? That is wild. Personally, I think the Tacoma is a nice little truck. Sure, Toyota deviated from their core values and principles a little with it, but it's still a nice truck. I'm shocked it isn't selling like a hot cake, mainly for the sake of it being the "new cheese"... Are people not buying off on the changes Toyota is making as of late? People learned the hard way with the new 2022+ Tundra (myself included)... so I wonder if buyers are much more skeptical now? The quality is now questionable, being fully built in Mexico, the prices is much higher than the previous gen (WHY?), it's rocking a smaller displacement motor (which is a better performing platform compared to the NA V6 by the way)... but still a 4 banger nonetheless, that doesn't sit well with truck people.

Will this new 2024 Toyota Tacoma prove to be a flop after all? I know TFL Truck's little snafu didn't help anything. Will the reliability of this new platform prove lackluster compared to previous naturally aspirated examples? Let me know your thoughts.

52k is way too much that’s the problem.

Simple, they are overpriced. $53k for a mid grade tacoma is just wild.

people aren't stupid . they will not pay 53k for a turbo4 piece of crap. not with 9 or 10% interest rates

Why hasn't it sold? Maybe "Made in Mexico" and $15, 000 to $20, 000 overpriced.

$53K not including tax and fees ??? Someone’s dreaming, you wont see me in a 24 Tacoma, hope it sits there a long time, nice try Toyota.

You can get a fully loaded Frontier Pro 4x for under $45K. And it has a solid non-turbo V6 in it!

People are getting smarter. Many youtubers aren't telling the truth about these manufacturers. Thanks for not being a shill.

Went to a local dealership here yesterday and priced a new GMC sierra 1500 that’s been sitting for several months now at 67k. The payments with a trade and a few grand down, excellent credit were still 1000.00 per month! Insane! Same with these Toyotas. Gtfo… no way.

It seems all that we loved about Toyota trucks, is gone.

Can we just get down to brass tacks? The price...#1 problem. No V6 #2 problem...Made in Mexico #3.

I work at a Toyota dealership service department. Yes the prices are insane! The little we have gotten have sold but that is to the chosen few. Many are upset about the price, interest and engine options. The price is more then the price of a very low mileage Tundra in some cases. There needs to be an adjustment in all areas!

Honestly, im leaning towards the nissan Pro4x. Its 10k cheaper, built with US labor vs mexican, and has a less complex powertrain.

At the end you keep saying “you get what you pay for, you get what you pay for.” But….you actually aren’t getting what you pay for with this gen.

52, 000 plus high interest rates=no one buying. FWIW you can find full sized trucks from the big 3 in lower trim levels for lower than this price.

They will never go down in price, keep what you have and take care of them.

Toyota Financial is offering 9% APR for excellent credit, on top of the astronomical prices. It's a joke.

I want you to go to your window and open it and yell at the top of your lungs, " I AM MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE" Until we all decide we have had enough with manufactures and dealers over charging, along with CEOs of these car companies making 27 million dollars a year nothing will change. You simply need to stop buying, and take care of the car you currently own. To institute change we are all going to have to accept a little pain for greater gain down the road.

I bought a new tundra limited in 2016 for $43k. I simply won’t buy another truck until prices come down about 30%. I’m fine with holding onto my truck another 8 years.

The markup is built into the price. $52k for a regular TRD is nuts.
