Показать описание
This is a video tutorial about how to use assemblies in Onshape. In assemblies, mates are used to constraints objects together to create larger, more complex designs. I will be covering the following mates:
Fastened
Revolute
Slider
Planar
Cylindrical
Pin Slot
Ball
Parallel

Thank you very much for this tutorial! Wow, it's so much more complicated than Solidworks! But for distance learning, for my CAD class kids, it's wonderful that Onshape makes this software available. With SWX often I'm mating to an axis, but the axis tools doesn't seem to be available in Onshape.

A note:
- With Revolute Mate, the pin won't revolve if the cube is fixed, but it will using the Cylindrical Mate.
-The Pin Slot Mate has a Limit option to constrain the pin.

Is there any key or mouse button that has to be pressed activate the part revolving. My part is rotating while i press the play button on the revolute popup. But i can not make it rotate with the mouse like you do in the video.

How did you modify the split in the middle of the sphere? I was able to split the sphere into 2 halves but am unable to create the chamfer-like appearance in the cut. Is there another way to do this?

Thank you....Planar Mate....was killing me. Now I know.

Too bad assembly didn't understand physics and collision detection of other surfaces, maybe they improved since this video was made?
