28 Google employees fired after protesting ‘Project Nimbus’ contract with Israeli government

A protest against Google’s collaboration with the Israeli government at the company’s US offices in New York City and Sunnyvale, California resulted in the termination of 28 Google employees after the company called police to break up the protest on Tuesday evening.

The protestors had said their sit-in at company offices would continue until they were removed or their employer dropped its $1.2bn Project Nimbus contract with Israel’s government.

The project, announced in 2021 by Google and Amazon, provides advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to Israel’s government.

My uncle has worked for both google and apple as a computer engineer. He quit apple last year because they wanted to force him to wear a pride hat and flag, so he quit. Now he left google last month because they forced him to wear israeli shirt pins. Where did the first amendment go?? Now he works at OpenAI, so lets see where this takes him.
