Guys, this is very important. Manny generally don't do recalls, he knows what the client is looking for!
When you receive a song for mixing, is very important to listen to their rought mix (especially if you was hired just for mixing)...
They want you to improve their work, not change everything in terms of balance, but put everything what their had in mind.

This lesson if applied with expertise, will give you a lot of work!

Before you guys go trying to clown this guy, the most genius artistic people usually aren't great at speaking. They moreso visualize what they're saying... but it's hard to put words to it. It's like asking somebody to explain "What does color look like?".

So yeah... I appreciate this guy sharing some of his tips!

Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge! I wish more producers were willing to share like this guy. Thanks again!

I think there’s a ton of great info here...not “do this, turn that” style, but really great info from a master mixer !!!

People don't realize that mixing engineers and all others involved on making an album are just as much artists as the performer.

so thats who Manny Marroquin is :D!  Cool! Everyone's saying it's hard to understand you but I get you perfectly. I guess I'm used to listening to Mexicans speaking English all the time

@dairniel That's the beauty of a great mix: a great talented engineer allows the song to sing itself. A non-schooled ear doesn't have to recognize all of this to appreciate it; but you can bet a person will notice a mix they don't like!

@ShortScopeBoy Well on of the great things about technology is that this guy was smart enough to upload the vid so that i could be viewed in HD, which equals better vid AND audio quality! We hear the music! Don't ever Stop!

Man I have to keep watching this over and over and over just to comprehend what he's saying... Manny Marroquin is one of the best out there, but man I keep spacing out trying to listen to this haha

My music doesn't sound bad but what it differs from allot of professionals are the tracks being used I mainly use like max 20 tracks in my songs but pro's use like 80 I guess i'm just lazy, how would you equalize compress like 80 different sounds I know with busses but still

Glad to see that Waves understand that you can't beat outboard gear for mixing and mastering and don't edit out the parts where he's explaining what he used even though most of it wasn't Waves software plugins. Like most companies would do to trick naive people into think that their software is "all you need to make a hit record".

I love waves plugins have used them for years, I just think its kinda funny how in a waves video he spends a lot more time talking about the hard wear he uses other than the plugins ...
