The reasons for the form factor has everything to do with product work flow, streamlined production efficiencies, manufacturing cost reductions, world class safety and aerodynamics.
I cant wait for this machine to render old trucks useless. The industry wide planned obsolescence, and ridiculous maintenance costs of OEM trucks is insane. $90, 000 trucks covered in rust within 5 years, and tens of thousands of dollars in costly repairs will be a thing of the past. The legacy OEM's are crooks and their dealership business models are about to be flattened. I for one welcome the change.
