I've decided to go over my experience with Project Wingman so you know exactly what you're getting into before/if you decide to buy it. If you like Ace Combat and maybe War Thunder, you're in for a treat. If you like DCS, maybe not as much, but I still think you'll enjoy it.

A hot GPU implies high utilisation throughout all compute units/CUDA cores instead of stressing only some of them. That's usually a sign of good optimisation, not bad. You could just cap your framerate if you want a cooler GPU though.

A great, well-balanced review. I bought the game before seeing this review but really agree. I came at this from an Ace Combat air-warfare history. I love playing this with a gamepad and really feel like there is a difference between pitch/yaw rates.
Most confusing is the allied kills, which is disheartening but I guess I'm getting gun happy....

Wait, the recommended specs are gtx 1070 ti? Lol I've been running it on max settings with my gtx 970 at 1080p and getting solid 60fps.

I hope it goes to console, the game is so badass. BTW it's perfectly playable on a GTX 1060, I only have clouds turned down one notch, everything else is maxed out. This guys comment about his graphics card is the simple fact this game is running on the Unreal Engine 4, engine does that on any game it's utilized on and overclocking needs to be minimal or the game will crash.

I have a Ryzen 7 with a 1660 runs well on high but the more planes or ground or nuke the graphics start to get a bit troubling but starts to fix itself after might be due to the engine

Project Wingman has Steam VR Support, 21:9 and 32:9 Aspect Ratio Support. Project Wingman has better Graphics and more Realistic Gameplay with A LOT more content/stuff for you to do. AC7 is a horrible Console port for 16:9 only, and not even True 4K Supported. AC7 is outdated while Project Wingman just got started.

I'm pretty sure they had mentioned they have no intention on making a multiplayer. it's a good game though. from the ace combat point of view that I noticed you did not mention was theres a option with the higher teir planes to use a AOA limiter rather then flares, using this allowing your plan to do crazy turns, for example, your in a dog fight, plane flys past, you pop a 180 is 2 seconds flat, shot a couple missles if the AI plane isn't already doing another AOA limiter turn as well. Ace combat does not have this, rather it just only lets planes so this at low speeds different for each plane and only certain planes can do it, by using the throttle and break at the same time, at a really specific time. its a hard technique honestly and a bit clunky on ace combat. The AOA limiter is what real life jets use to perform quick G turns. as apposed to the post stall maneuvers on Ace

'It has a light recommended spec, GTX 1070 Ti' - it's not light at all, that's practically a GTX 1080. Also, Ace Combat 7 only requires a GTX 1060 3GB while running with higher FPS.

Regarding your graphics card getting hot, it has nothing to do with the game. It's not on the game to keep it cool, it's on the hardware to keep it cool. Your GPU should always be able to run at 100% load and be sufficiently cooled. Again, it's never on the game to keep it cool.
