Hey just a FYI you can go into the settings and put on distortion correction and it removes the props out of the view of the camera you can also make it to where you can see the props threw the goggles but it records the footage with no props.

Regarding turtle mode, I don't own the dji drone, but normally for FPV quads the process is something like this : disarm the motors, put the quad in turtle mode, arm the motors, flick the pitch/roll (right) stick in the direction you want to try flipping over.

Great review. I've been on the fence about this of the mini 3. Your initial question 'fun or pics?" settled it for me.

He's right, this thing is seriously fun, in fact, I think DJI understated the top speed, I've been clocking mine at 99mph. It's not as popular with some of my neighbors though. It seems to scare some people.

Turtle mode only works if u make it think its been in a crash, whil its hovering grab the bottom and flip it over, should work after that lol

When you go into turtle mode on a real quad, you turn on turtle mode and then push the direction it needs to flip, betaflight even gives you an arrow to tell you which way to push your stick. And when you do it, get far away when you test, it could hurt you. After a while of practice you will not lean when standing, plus you get better range the higher the transmitter (you call it a remote).

Interesting perspective, I think most people that are flying this thing are coming from the world of racing quads rather than cinema drones. I think if you were to keep it and keep practicing in rate mode (manual mode) you would find that as your skill level increases this is the smoothest way to fly. I prefer to use the term "Rate Mode" and the term "Angle mode" for DJI (Note that it's D*J*I, not D*G*I lol. Sorry, pet peeve of mine, no youtuber can seem to pronounce this right!) because it's more descriptive of what the quad is actually doing. In Angle mode (sport), you are requesting a specific angle of attack when you move the sticks, so you have to hold the stick in that position to maintain that angle of attack and when you release it the quad moves back to level. In rate mode (manual) you are requesting a specific rate of rotation when you move the sticks, so if you move the right stick right, the quad will roll right at the rate requested until you return the stick to center, and then it will stay at that angle until it receives another input. This is why so many new pilots crash when first trying rate mode, you have to control every movement of the quad.

Also, analog has it's advantages. Yes the feed is low def and staticy, but the view tends to degrade slowly and even when it gets really bad you can usually still see enough to get out of trouble. Of course I suppose with the DJI it will hopefully just brake and RTH, but relying on automatic systems to get you out of trouble is not a good idea. Automatic systems can let you down, but your own skills never will.

Anyway great video, enjoyed the perspective.

I wish camera channels would understand the interpretation of the LOS rule correctly.

On my original Mavic Pro, I would get an obstacle warning sometimes when flying directly toward the sun. The direct sunlight or some type of reflection seemed to confuse the sensors. It always scared me!

You can set the video recording to trim just enough of the video to get rid of the props showing.

Power lines and water.. I lost my Mavic 2S in a lake 24 hrs after purchase. The drone malfunction only being 80-90m from me 😢😢 Have been flying drones for yrs and never experienced that issue. Ended up buying the Mavic Air 2 and water landing gear 🤪🤪

I happen to personally have one of these drones and I happen to live near Laughlin Nevada but in Arizona, but my point is is that I have so many amazing places to fly but can't because of faa fly zones and this drone will not even start its motors if I get to Laughlin because there's also protected national parks which you can't "legally" fly in. I know it's just my area... but the drone itself is truly amazing.

Good info. I was scared the first few times I flew my mavic air 2. To be honest, 2 months later and maybe like 15 flights in, I still feel a little nervous. Not sure I got the heart for fpv yet. Looks fun though

I've used turtle mode often, in a tree 2 times turtle mode worked and brought my drone out of three tree,

you need a spoter to keep the eye on the drone. simple

Great review! I have been researching this drone and the Avata( which I purchased first). I agree with smoothness of the 3 axis gimbal on my Mavic Pro. I am wondering if you purchased an FPV yet?

I wish the camera was sitting back so to feel like your flying a spaceship from a cockpit

Have you tried image roll correction? Could you tell me how good is it?
