donyboy73, thanks for this video. I was struggling with a cheap Chinese scooter I worked on for my YouTube channel and a viewer gave me this tip. I looked it up because I could not find this screw and your video has helped me find this screw's location. Thanks a million.

I watched your video because the carburetor you showed was similar to mine, I also had the same issue you described. Mine didn't have the plastic cap but inside had a very tiny plastic plug, I used a small drill bit, with my hand I removed the plastic and found the adjusting screw. I adjusted as you explained and works fine. Maybe the manufacturer don't want anyone seeing this adjustment screw, but with your help I got it!

Dude, thank you SO MUCH for this video. I had exactly the same problem with an older Ryobi blower that idled fine but bogged down under throttle, 1/2 turn out did the trick, now it’s running like new!

Great video! along with your other video describing how the single screw carbs work I now understand how to make proper adjustments on these unique carbs. One thing to note is for the perfect mixture is to use a tach and when you get max speed with no bog let off the throttle and richen the carb just enough to bring the rpm down by 100 rpm, remember that if it's too lean you can burn up the engine! like the saying goes "lean is mean but rich is fat!"

On some of the newer carburetors there is indeed an adjustment screw there. There is no cap to remove. The adjustment screw is covered up with a little dab of plastic inside the hole. What I do is heat up the end of a small jeweler's screwdriver and put it into the hole. You will feel it sink into the wax as it melts it. Let it go in a fraction of an inch, let it sit for a few seconds so it cools off them pull the wax plug out. Now using a small jewelers screwdriver you can make the adjustment. It is for idle adjustment and ramp up. Some Walbro carbs also have a high speed adjustment through a small hole in the side of the carb body.

I had exactly the same bogging down problem with a Mitox Strimmer. I bought a carb gasket kit but the guy at the shop said try the small screw on the throttle first, and that fixed the problem.

So is this for the 'high' jet (under full throttle)? and can only set 'low' mix with idle screw on these type of carbs?

Thank you. I know you took this video awhile ago. I have a walbro carburetorbut the top plastic piece isn't there but there is it looks like a flat head screwdriver area on there any suggestions on that or would it be like the same process?

Aloha Dony. I'm working on another Shindaiwa T242 and once again, carburetor issue. Do they make a replacement carburetor with high low adjustment screws? I don't see anyway to adjust these stock carburetors that come on the T242s. I ordered another carb and hopefully that will cure the problem of it bogging down after about 20 minutes. The spark arrestor has been removed and port is clean.

On my 2017 ECHO PAS280 there are two adjustment screws in the same place, but mine had a then plastic plug. At the base of that alum. section is one, and the other is on top of the carb.

Hey I have a walbro HDA 286 carb. I’m thinking it needs a total cleaning before rebuild kit. Which one screw low or high idle Is slightly longer. Thank you for any assistance
