Along with alerts, sounds and badges, you can use the LED to indicate notifications. It's an accessibility feature you can turn on in the Settings app. I think that might be enough to have you informed about notifications.

Yes, finally the Iphone 5s, which looks just like the iPhone 5, which looks just like the iPhone 4s, which looks just like the iPhone 4, which looks just like the iPhone 3G (hooray, a letter change!), which looks just like the original iPhone. I am so excited you guys!

I hate people arguing about phones but im going to have to agree with you. My girlfriend owns a GS3 and I own an iphone 5. we have both had our phones for about a year now and hers is always locking up, lagging and being slugish, on top of the volume buttons not working properly. my phone however is still like the day i bought it. working flawlessly. Being a fan of all phones i just cant imagine anyone denying hard facts when it comes to iphones just lasting longer than the competition.

It's not (total) capacitive. The fingerprint scanning process does not require pushing the home button.

I'm actually happy that Apple chose to improve the camera in terms of the flash, aperture and the image sensor, rather than just going for bigger megapixels. It is not that you can't improve a camera without increasing the number of megapixels. I don't know why people are going after megapixels and screen sizes. It looks like each company is in a 'megapixel' and 'screen size' race.

While other manufacturers keep increasing the megapixels on their phone cameras, Apple did something different. They improved the camera by increasing the aperture and pixel size in its sensor, along with the dual flashes, which are used to enhance the colour of the image and let more light in. I don't really understand why many people think you can't improve the camera without increasing the megapixels. This is like Apple choosing to increase the quality of the images rather than the quantity.

its because apple makes good all around products. some companies just focus on stuff like jamming their phones with useless feature or they only focus on a 40 mega pixels camera. apple makes sure everything on the phone works decently and thats what makes their products so good.

You can opt to disable the Touch ID sensor and unlock it the normal way.

That gold color is a lot nicer looking than I thought it would be. I won't be upgrading because I am only halfway through my two year contract, but I'm already looking forward to the iPhone 6. :) Pretty jealous of the fingerprint sensor.

Yes, you can register multiple fingerprints.

In the UK the iPhone 5S has increased by £20 in price, last year I paid £640 in total for my 32GB iPhone 5, so I think I'll be waiting for the iPhone 6 to part with my cash again.

It has several improvements, along with the fingerprint sensor.

I overclocked my Nexus once, and it hard bricked the device. I struggled for merely six days to look for a T5 torque screwdriver, remove the back, reconnect the battery bridge, and get it back alive. Until now, I'm still struggling to optimize the performance to get decent battery life, and I spent months re-calibrating the screen. The stock kernel is pretty much shit. I realized why Apple keeps iOS close sourced: prevent fragmentation, and so the users don't have to optimize shits anymore.

Yes, both those are great innovations but I'd like to see at least a 720p display instead of 640 again.

otterbox already has the cases on their website for both the 5s and 5c

Yes, exactly. Samsung (and other Android phone manufacturers) provide high specs, but they are not really used, or wasted in bloatware or similar stuff. However, Apple gives you high specs AND makes them 'usable', and also puts in stuff that takes advantage of and uses the new higher specs.

The fingerprint sensor unlocking is optional - you can unlock it the normal way as well, if you want. By the way, how can you even operate an iPhone (not only an iPhone, any other phone) without a finger?

Yes. That's what Apple does. Even if they're not innovating, they take a good idea and improve it and implement it on their devices.

I have always hated the back of the iPhone 5 and now this one too. I have the black to Gray to black it makes it look half finished. Wish they had the tech of a 5s in a 5c
