Hey everyone. Sometimes you want to have an object move on a particular path but it's difficult to animate it precisely in After Effects. In this tutorial I explain a really easy way to do this in just 3 minutes!

Thanks for the tutorial. Is it possible to have the arrows following the path while the path itself is also animated? So instead of the path being static I would like to deform it a little. Thanks!

ok got it working.... I now made the mask on the car layer. Tho this just didn't fix it... Still had the same problem but than I started not to ctrl c and ctrl v but ctrl x and ctrl v and I did it at roughly 1 sec. I have no clue why this fixes it....

I have a question, hope you can help me. The rotation of the arrow doesn't change. Is there something I am doing wrong?

What if the path was animated eg a Trim Path already applied to the path that had easing on it, would it change the procedure in any way or would the arrow just follow along the path and automatically match the trim path and easing that was applied?

how does it work if the layers are in different sizes? For example, I got a photo of a Map of germany which is very high res and I got an low res car picture. I made a mask on the map and copied the path to the pos of the car. But the size of the copied layer get messed up... Tried a lot of things but can't get it to work.

When I paste the path's keyframe into the arrow's position, the arrow gets unaligned with the path. Is there a way to fix that?

Hi there, I'm trying to animate an object (a png graphic) on a path. I've made the path and copied it into the Position of the object, but I can't for the life of me make it go into the direction I want it to. It keeps going into the opposite direction. I've tried changing the direction of the path before copying and pasting it into the object position but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks!
