Seiko Recraft New Release for 2017 Review

I have the green one. My dad gave it to me. It's a beautiful watch. I only wear it once in awhile for some special occasions due to dialy sport activities which I need to wear apple watch instead most of the time. This watch is a conversation starter. Everyone always admire how beautiful it is. It's a joy to own one, especially as a gift from my dad. ❤️

Hi Marc, I just bought an SPKP23 and here's a review I posted elsewhere.

I just bought one and I love it. I paid $197 with sales tax at Macy's (bought online, picked up in store) and for $200 it's a great watch with totally unique styling. I don't know how the power reserve is because I've only worn it for eight hours, but the bracelet is very nice and if you dig this styling, you should buy one. There's something about the way the light plays with the indices, the case, and the iridescent face that just "clicks".

I am a member of a watch repair group and I am going to lume the hands. It may void the warranty but for $200 I'm not concerned. It's very comfortable on my wrist and I bought a vintage strap for it also. Listen, it has some compromises: it doesn't wind. It doesn't hack. But it is a Seiko and it's a pleasure to look at and wear. There's really noting else like it.

It's a matter of taste: if you like the look, you'll love the watch. If you're ambivalent, find something else.

By the way, I will buy my next Seiko from you. I got this one at Macy's because it was a ten minute drive from my home, so I paid and got it within an hour.

Glad you gave these watches some airtime. The case profile isn't easy to see in still images, and a video helps a lot. The Recraft series really hits my retro desires.

@8:50 Blue dial/Steel bracelet looks good to me. No reviewer ever mentions the reason steel bracelets are so good -- strapping the watch on in the morning with ONE HAND - Slip-on & clamp down. Can't stand fussing with a leather strap trying to buckle it when I'm tired and wish I was still in bed and I'm zombie marching out the door...I don't wanna fight my watch in the a.m.. This seiko revcraft is a nice pickmeup for anyone with an office or white collar job. It's got some bling 'n' zing to it yet is absolutely tasteful.

Glad to see that this version of the Recraft series is a tad smaller, I had my eyes on the original recraft but at 43, 5mm it's just to large for my taste.

Might pick up the burgundy one, really love the vintage feel.

My new Seiko Recraft with green dial arrived yesterday 9/1. Thank you for sending that green eye girl fast to daddy. I love that green dial! The straps I am not so sure yet and thinking on getting something softer in the same brown color. But that is me being extra picky. The watch is lovely the way it comes.
Here is one idea for a watch and learn -> How to clean and maintained your new time pieces looking sharp for beginners (proper cloth brand and materials, solutions, how to go about it, etc..). I know I can use a video like that.

This video is great - with the exception that green dial Seiko look better on me :-)

Just a suggestion, add a brighter lighting would do a great help for the view to appreciate the true color of those watch.

I bought the green faced one two days ago. I absolutely love it. The video just doesn’t capture the beauty of the green. It’s subtle but it pops.

I have the brushed gold square case with calf skin band and champaign dial. Don't think this was a popular ReCraft but I love it as I think it really captures the 70's aesthetic they were going after. Design-wise I think the ReCrafts are among the most interesting watches out there. Keep the 7S26, Seiko. Great movements and it keeps the watches affordable. Hacking? Hand-winding? Pffft. Have a couple of those too. No biggie. Love day/date quickset which nearly every reviewer neglects to mention. Only thing with ReCrafts is I wish they had lume. Looking to pick up another. Likely the silver bracelet in this video. Enjoy the video. Keep'em coming!

Hi Marc I received another watch from you today which is the blue one in this video. I have to say I really like it! Time keeping is about -8.8 seconds a day which is good enough not to adjust it. Thanks for your videos and professional service.

With watches without hand-winding, how do you know that you've reached full wind to calculate the 40 hrs down from?

Just got the green dial version of the watch, absolutely amazing. Would 100% recommend this watch, also I would recommend buying a different strap for the watch.
