Seiko Recraft 'Turtle' Watch New Releases From Seiko

In today's video, we're going to checkout 3 new Seiko releases. All three of these Recraft "Turtle" style watches are powered by Seiko's own hand winding and hacking 4R36 movement. They feature day and date displays and an awesomely styled seconds hand.

Perhaps what is best about these watches, though, is the case design. They are 44mm in diameter, yet are actually less than that from lug tip to lug tip. Combine that with a crown that is tucked away neatly, and you have a watch that wears well on even smaller wrists.

Love your videos. The only down side of watching them is that it makes me realise just how limited the availability of the Seiko range is here in the UK. All the best.

Thanks for introducing the various versions of this watch. I got my SRPC13 (Teal/Green Dial) back a couple of months ago from a seller in California.
When I was a youngster in Asia, back in the late sixties and the early part of seventies, this case style was not uncommon and people called it the "flying saucer" in the '60s, and then switched over to the "UFO" case from the early '70s onward. Both Omega and Tissot had UFO style cases as well back in those days.
Regarding that color-coordinated resin ring that sits between the bezel and the crystal, I remember clearly back then that a number of the Seiko "5" watches had this very same set-up which I found very interesting because no other watch companies did that (not that I could recall anyway!).
For those who are interested in accuracy, mine has settled down to an average of +8 sec/d which is quite respectable for a 4R36 movement. When the watch was new, the movement was running between +10 and +11 sec. per day during the first 3 to 4 days. Does it mean there is a break-in period of sort for watch movements then?! Interesting!

Hello Mark. I've own this watch for quite awhile now. And I've been looking for infomation about this watch's crystal. I'd love to pick up an aftermarket crystal to replace mine. Hoping you would assist me in identifying the crystal size. TIA!

my wrists are 5.5cm and I never owned a watch before so i have no idea about sizes. I really love this one though! Do you think it's a bit big for my wrist?

Hi Mark, nice looking watches. But Seiko's pricing is starting to bug me a bit, I mean they are putting the 4r36 in watches under 200.00 which is great for those buyers, but then the same movement in 500.00 - 700.00 watches not so good, am I wrong about feeling a little off put?

These are absolutely gorgeous. I have the brown/gold version (the brown sunburst dial is dope) but I'm going to get the blue face as well. The aqua face with the orange seconds hand is the holy grail though
