Creating low pressure inside a plastic bottle crushes it | Pressure | Physics

The activity in this video demonstrates how a low pressure environment inside an enclosed space is dangerous. We first partially fill a bottle with boiling water. This drives air out of the bottle, replacing it with water and steam. Then we seal the bottle to prevent air from getting back into the bottle. As the bottle is cooled steam condenses to water and the pressure in the bottle drops significantly below the atmospheric pressure of the air outside. This difference in pressure crushes the walls of the bottle. This is the reason submarines have a maximum depth rating, if they go lower than their rating then the pressure exerted by the water will crush the submarine.

what is the value of pressure that is needed to crush that bottle please. 
could you achieve the same thing in a vacuum chamber with the cap on an empty bottle.

KClassScienceChannel, I had to urinate into a bottle because the bathroom was occupied. When I screwed the cap on, the bottle's walls collapsed the same way as your bottle in the experiment within approximately the same time frame. My room is at 69 degrees Fahrenheit. Is the same principal in effect here? If so, I didn't realize that it could happen so quickly.

I hope you can find a glass soft drink bottle with soft drink in it and make it lose pressure and make the soda leave the bottle and leave the bottle in tact and the lid on.  But do they even make glass soft drink bottles anymore?
