Bat House Placement with Jim Kennedy - 1

We speak to Jim Kennedy about a bat house placement that turns out to be a little too close to some surrounding trees. In this case, it was intentional because he knows they are going to prune the trees back to the required 15 to 20 foot recommended clearance. The bat house will be facing S to SE when completed and be about 16 to 18 feet high.

We just bought a bat house and are ready to mount it. There is an irrigation canal behind our house so water is good from April to October. What do the bats do in the winter months? Also, it gets very hot in our yard in the summer. Is that something we need to consider when hanging the house?

Calling all bat enthusiasts: I plan to install a few bat houses. I *really* want to put them on some old fence posts, but they are only 8 feet tall... is that tall enough?

Building a couple of bat houses, and I'm wondering if I can mount them on a windmill. The windmill is in a wide open pasture near a pond. My concern is the noise and vibration from the blades turning and the rods going up and down might annoy bats. Ever hear of mounting a house on a windmill? If so, how did the bats like it? Thanks, NS
