Rotation is a way to prevent pest infestation in your soil. Prevention is the best method because treating requires chemicals or a lot of extra work so simply rotating your planting is just an easier way to medigate all of that potential pest problems before they start.

The sample size is so small you can't really trust the results. But, whatever 😊

This is misinformation. It takes more than 1 year to decrease yield from lack of nutrients. Crop rotation is always a good idea, as it helps keep those levels of nutrients at optimal levels, and some plants, like hemp or sunflower, help remove radiation and heavy metals from the soil, which can INCREASE yields from your other plants.

Also, as another commentor mentioned, sample size is too small

It is about soil chemistry. Crop rotation is about not having to “add” fertilizer back in. If you do add fertilizer to replenish the soil, then in theory, it should yield the same amount as you saw (all other things held equal).

Our first glasshouse is more than 20 years old. So 20 years the same plants. Never had any problems. Outside i try to rotate often it's not possible. Never got problems.

Im going to avoid the headache of crop rotation by trying straw bale gardening.
Going to keep my raised beds & compost what remains of the straw bales at the end of their lives to add back to my raised beds. But… I feel like I’ll be able to experiment with placement and different crops based on how they perform where I put my straw bales.

And then either keep going straw bale or build raised beds when I know what does well in each location of my front and back yard

My uncle's parents put their plants in the same spots for 40 years until they passed.

I tried to rotate, but do to the lack of space.. it wouldn't work.. so I don't.
Just make sure that I mix in fresh finished compost.

Can I come stay with you for a year to learn❤️🙃????

rotating crops allows the use of less fertilizer. But if you are adding fertilizer anyway then it will have little to no effect.

I think if you amend the soil or add compost overwinter everything should be ok.

Crop rotation prevents disease, like club root. Blight. Etc.

Tell me this did you have pest issues or did you go Organic but that's what crop rotation is about so the pest don't come in and eat the crap out of your produce let me know??? I went to osu

I don't think you're meant to rotate every year, probably after a period of time, then yes.

Horrible advice. 2 years sure and longer will start to deplete the key nutrients eventually starting to show in your product. Crop rotation is the only way to 😊

JillianJoy-fm

if you know about fertilizer you don't need to rotate.

Two years and three crops are not scientific ways to prove anything. But look at the nature. Nature doesn’t rotate.

One example doesnt prove anything so youre bullshitting
