If your DELL laptop headphones aren't working then watch this video before you reach for a screwdriver.

If you plug them in and nothing happens - no speakers muted and no sound coming out of the headphones then try this fix.

Especially if you've just reinstalled.

If you want to download the application then see this link:

That's the Jun 2019 release, older versions can be found here:

If you've read this far hoping to find the answer to a common question I get asked then here it is...

To get the pop up dialogue box back once its been hidden see this video:

It's something that gets asked a lot in the comments - so I made a separate video!

Hope this helps!

I'm never going to get rich from this, but it is nice to get something... So if you've watched this video then you can buy me a coffee using the Ko-fi link, click Like or click Subscribe. Or all three!

I found this on the Internet and now it works.

I was having this same issue with my XPS 9570. After you reinstall the new Realtek HD Audio Driver from the Dell website (remember it takes TWO restarts - one restart to uninstall the current driver, then another to install the new driver), make sure you Enable the Waves MaxxAudio Service Application via Task Manager (or via the Settings app):

1. Open Task Manager

2. Navigate to the "Startup" tab

3. Scroll down to "Waves MaxxAudio Service Application" - right-click on it and then select "Enable"

4. Restart your computer and it should work now.

You can also do this via the Settings app:

1. Open "Settings"

2. Click on "Apps", then navigate to "Startup" on the left-side panel

3. Find "Waves MaxxAudio Service Application" and move the slider to "On"

4. Restart your computer and it should work now.

Cheers.

I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have had this problem for 6 months now. I was going back and forth with Dell. They wanted me to send it my computer for repair. All I needed was to get this box to pop up again to make it work. Thanks so much!!!

I was just about to pay money to Dell for their advice centre as I was so lost as to how to fix it. You have done a public service in sorting this out for Dell users.

Thank you very much mate. I spent several hours to fix this. I reinstalled RealTek audio driver with adjusting Dell sounds sittings actually it worked in the beginning but stopped again. I thought the problem was in jack socket or need to be replaced or cleaned. Now, I'm able to continue doing my tasks. I appreciate you sharing your experience!
