USA Gravel Nationals - 2024 Raw Highlights

Raw Highlights from my 12th place ride at the 2024 USA Cycling Gravel National Championships!

This race was awesome! Super dynamic with hills, sand traps, cross winds and tactical games. I was able to massively improve upon my 2023 ride at nationals where I fell out of the main group at mile 50.

This year I was active and in control in the main group for most of the day. I gritted my teeth to make it over the highway climb at mile 96, and then found myself in the lead group of 12 heading up the final climb at mile 115

Unfortunately I lost it there, but kept on the gas riding solo into town to maintain 12th place and only finished 2min 53sec down on the winner, Mr Brennan Wertz!

What you guys do on gravel I can only dream of. I can leave my driveway and pedal on gravel for as many miles as I choose and I love it but no way could I pedal at this pace for 100+ miles. Absolutely inspiring!!

This was a GREAT video. SO much better than the 9min recap that @usacycling put together. The footage was amazing. I felt like I was in the race. When your elastic snapped I was like out loud to the computer. Nice race man!

Joe, this just shows the type of person you are... US Nationals... going all out... 100 miles into the race... you still thought to give that little gesture of thanks to the truck that pulled over to let the group pass 👍👍 (20:10). Amazing how quickly the group split apart in the deep sand section. Great footage. It would be great to see you at BWR British Columbia one of these years.
