A Race Recap of the first ever USA Gravel National Championships with Joe Goettl. After making the first selection, a gnarly crash took down a good portion of the field, and I found myself in a group with many of the hitters: Keegan Swenson, Alexy Vermeulen, Payson McElveen, Brennan Wertz, Marc Sprat and Tobin Ortenblad. Fantastic insight into the race - Both the terrain and race dynamics, especially with the wind and echelons / guttering that you don't see too often in gravel. Chapeau for going all in to stick with the lead group as long as possible!!! No point in saving anything at the Natty!
