I'm a tree climber and I like it for secured footlocking.

I almost exclusively use the klemheist knot when climbing. I have found that there are very few situations where I will be put force on both directions. Even ascending I am able to go downwards with this or an ascender perfectly fine. The klemheist also provides more friction in the system with no more effort than a prussic. The Bachman’s knot I find to be inferior knot, as I am around 200 pounds I don’t get enough friction from it to be able to rest. I would encourage everyone to try using the klemheist. I like it so much that it has become one of my go to knots. There are very few situations in which you actually will be weighting both sides of a prussic and I can’t think of any when the rope is vertical.

I use the klemheist as a progress capture whenever i pull loads with a simple sheave. The setup time is very quick too, which is great when you have to move the sheave multiple times. If it wasn’t so fast, I probably wouldn’t even bother most of the time.

I typically use a short 18mm sling. It doesn’t have the same twisting problem the prusik loop has either. I think this knot performs better with slings/runners than it does with rope.

Awesome!! Could you feasibly use two of these on a line to create a climbing system?
Like...one for your foot and one for your hand with a prussik on your harness attached to the line...then inchworm up the rope?

An upside down klemheist is a hedden hitch, it grips in either direction.

SCREW DOWN SO YA DON'T SCREW UP ☝

The real test of ether of these is using it to ascend the main rope. Which is easier to slide up the rope as you ascend? I see a lot of examples of how to tie these knots but few actually climb up any distance up the line to show how well each knot works in practice. Vs saying using commercially made actual ascender. A
So little talk about what type of rope is best to make a ascending loop out of. To get good enough friction when loaded BUT also easily slid up the main rope as you ascend. The truth is practical use and experience actually using these knots climbing vs theoretical knowledge would be helpful. Which knot in actual practical use by someone who has actually ascended a long climb using both knots would be better.

Can you tie two of those and use them for your feet?

The only reason I don't like the 'screw down' is because my carabiner is made to not rotate. So it only screws up.

I like your videos but you y’all way to much in them. It takes you to get Half way through the video before getting to the tying the knots. And you stop and you and talk while you’re doing it instead of talking as you do the knot. Most videos with how to tie knots or to do paracord knots or wraps don’t talk near as much as you do you can do everything with a video less than what you’re doing now but only if you stop stopping in between parts as you tie the knots and talk and redoing the knots after barely starting them. People don’t like how to videos that take you to get through half way through or more to know how to tie the knots. This how to video you could cut less than half if you stop talking so much at the beginning of the videos. And you take forever to do the knots you stop redo then start stop redo and again start back doing it. We don’t know where you’re going do we start and then stop again and go back and then keep going or do we pause while your talking and just get confused or something what? You can explain more on like what the knots are used for after you show how to do them. And why they are good to know.

Yawn....
Less narrative and more instruction please:)
Skip to 2:15 if you’re just looking for instruction on how to tie this knot.
