Lean Philosophy
Показать описание
Dear Progress Partners & Subscribers,
This Thursday, I have brought up LEAN PHILOSOPHY. It is a principle driven, tool based philosophy that focuses on eliminating waste from all activities/ steps and maximize value for customer. The principles of Lean were first introduced in the book The Machine That Changed the World (1991) by James P. Womack, Daniel T. Jones and Daniel Roos.
Division of labour, the separation of a work process into a number of tasks, with each task performed by a separate person or group of persons. It is most often applied to systems of mass production and is one of the basic organizing principles of the assembly line. The Scottish economist Adam Smith, in his work An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (1776), saw this splitting of tasks as a key to economic progress by providing a cheaper and more efficient means of producing goods.
Mass production is the manufacture of large amounts of the same product, often in simultaneous batches. This process allows companies to meet consumer demand at a lower cost. Henry Ford, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, introduced the concept of assembly lines in 1913, which led to the process of mass production.
The craft production definition is the manufacturing process of making products, one by one, with or without the aid of tools, usually in a job shop manufacturing setting. Craft production was the most common method of manufacturing pre-industrialization, like apparel, jewelry, woodcraft, paperwork, printmaking, models, textiles etc.
