no mention of redemption through sin? It's interesting how an upbeat presentation, and avoidance of this man's depravity, "white" washes his madness and the consequent psychopathy of an eventual successor, Jacob Frank

Wow dude way to not mention the disgusting practices that they espoused.

Thanks for this masterpiece. If we look at world events we can only conclude that this movement is still around today.

All you need is that one friend to validate your delusions 😂

It'd probably be important to note that there is a pretty good theory going around that Shabbetai Tzvi suffered acute bi-polar disorder, which often manifests itself fully around the age of 22. The euphoric highs, the acute depressions when he locked himself away for days, the hallucinations ...

This is an incomplete version of this story, no mention of the horror this man preached.

Jeremy you are awesome. I'm so sorry to write it here but you really are. Such clarity, the passion and enthusiasm in story telling. You make it so exciting and turned me into a child suitable for eternal learning. So a big thank you.

What about the redemption through sin teachings, is that not true? Just curious. Thanks anyone who may know the exact answer or exact as we can be with ancient history.

Isaiah 53 (Yeshayahu) describes what the Messiah would go through. Only one man fulfilled all this Jesus Christ or Yeshua Ha-mashiach. See for yourself.

Fantastic video. Living among many Harredi and other extremely orthodox friends and relatives here in Beit Shemesh, Israel, I find it interesting the extreme disinterestedness in a modern Messiah, even as the idea has not lost all currency.

Sabbatai Zevi says "We'll reconquer the land of Israel and redistribute it across the 10 tribes." .. So was he basically the first Zionist? And did this strain of intention persist through the Sabbatean movement?

5:50 You used a picture of Ataturk, was he from the Dönme?

Yeah it's probably wise to ignore the actual teachings of Sabbatai zevi and make sure nobody knows about that one.

Not related to this video in anyway, but please consider making a course for video editing. I really love your photoshop course. Bought the Mask course which was fantastic.

Well I did not expect this but the editing is really really solid! Crash course maybe? I just finished your Photoshop course and it was a cut above everything else I watched.

Thank you for including a picture of Ataturk in your collage of the Dönmeh. Too many people are unaware of the powerful Sabbatean influence on the modern, post-Ottoman Middle East that endures to this day in Turkey and the Persian Gulf.
