Law enforcement authorities say the Sekhukhune District in Limpopo is a major contributor to the country's drug manufacturing and trafficking activities.

This after members of the Hawks busted and dismantled the largest drug manufacturing laboratory in the country, at a farm outside Groblersdal in the Sekhukhune region.

Four suspects, including two Mexican nationals, were arrested.

More than $100m worth of chemicals used in the manufacturing of illicit drugs were seized in the raid which equates to around R2 billion in street value.

Pierre Gildenhuys is the head of Forensic Investigations D&K Management Consultants.

He joins us now live.

The problem of crime in SA is problem of a lack of will in the government to address the problems of our country.
It's a problem of the ruling party people being involved in criminal activity. Just like we saw their involvement in the Eskom problems that have crippled our economy.
Just like we do not see any progress in the Senzo Meyiwa case

Reporters must stop announcing the monetary value of drug bursts, it encourages others to get involved in the drug trade since they see the huge financial value of drugs!

People are focused on the Mexicans and not on the farmer who allowed this to happen on his property

Sure if these drug traffickers pay the Hawks a nice "bonus" - they'll all be set free and we'll be told some BS story - again....

So the Hawks will confiscate the drugs - turn their backs while these guys escape and then the Hawks will sell the drugs for their own bank accounts
