I ordered the Riverstone.cartridge gauge and there was a long delivery time - early to mid February. Sounds typical right now, eh? But low and behold it arrived yesterday, 18 December and I am happy! Your reference pushed me over the edge, Steve. I had been dithering for at least a year or more.

One thing I want to mention is the packaging - wow, these guess know how to do it right! The paperboard box, while not super fancy, is substantial and of high quality. There is a security sticker that directs you to contact Riverstone if it is broken. The box has another seal that must be cut before you can open it. Then there is just the right amount of bubble wrap before you get to the tin container holding the goods.

Printed documentation is included. While the typeface is small (reading glasses are likely necessary for most) it’s complete and offers an alternative to a link/QR code to the website. But there also is a reference to the company website where additional information I, including an instructional video.

These guys are serious and dedicated. Thanks for the nudge, Steve!

I built the Amp Camp Amp and Korg Preamp and the combination sounded so beautiful for the price I cannot imagine anything costing 10 times as much would be a match for this wonderful amp-preamp combo.

Steve, the GIK 2A is an absorber, rather than a diffuser. They don't even show a diffusion lab test report. If you broke down its acoustical properties, it would probably be something like; 80% absorber, 15% reflector, and 5% diffuser. The associated effective frequency bandwidths would correlate about the same respectively.

I gifted myself a 'previously owned' Schiit Modi 3 dac from Ebay. It sounds really nice. Had I researched before ordering, I would have bought the newer version Modi 3+ which has an upgraded (Unison USB) circuit. Reviewers say this provides a trifle better sound quality. Who knew?
