question 38 ( 41:09 ) there is no such thing as overloading in PHP like it is used in few languages (eg Java, C#).. if you try to define a method with same name but different amount of parameters you get a "fatal error: cannot redeclare..."
there are some ways to simulate overloading, like you possibly mentioned by using the magic function ( __call ) or you can create 1 method without any parameteres and call the method anyways with some params and get the parameters with func_get_args().
