Who would have thought in 1977 when they said "one of the greatest adventures of all time" they were actually being honest.

I like how we can see a glimpse of what the original special effects looked like. Still looks great though. Just a tiny but cheesy, but I can see why it was the best, most realistic sci-fi movie ever made at that point. And it looks better than some early 2000’s Disney animated movies though.

George Lucas made history when he wrote the draft for this groundbreaking film in a cheap, standard notebook; he changed the landscape of entertainment forever. This film REcaptured the collective child in everyone who had seen it when it was released in 1977, as well as those who continue to enjoy its unparalleled wonder. This milestone space opera ignites our imaginations, taking us back to a simpler time when the only thing we worried about was which sugar cereal we were going to eat for breakfast. Thank you, George Lucas, for creating so many wonderful memories for all of us who love your work and had the privilege of living through the pop culture universe you shaped singlehandedly.

The score, I mean John Williams work with this saga is superb. I know "Master Class" Gets thrown around alot I'm guilty of doing this myself but his work on these movies is one of the best Scores in cinematic history. Listening in has an amazing breakdown of his star wars scores I'd highly suggest anyone interested take a look.
FYI, I'm not associated with that YouTube channel it's just great scoring breakdown content.

Star Wars Episode IV and the entire franchise is officially 45 years old!!!
Made $1.5 billion and $775 million globally
Crazy how I never saw the original movie until Revenge of the Sith came out, thank goodness for the prequels getting made later and the sequel trilogy
The acting can be hokey and some of these line readings are awkward but it was a throwback to those old action-adventure serials even Flash Gordon
Ultimately made Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford household names
It's amazing that George Lucas managed to get the movie made despite the many issues plaguing production from bad weather conditions to props failing to running low on funds, he actually fled to Hawaii when it premiered fearing it would bomb
Glad to see where the fascination of this franchise started setting the bar for original science-fiction and summer blockbusters to come
No idea it would make so much money and spawn tons of merchandise from comics, toys, video games, novels, clothing, cosplaying, and cementing itself in the pop culture forever
It's even analyzed in film classes
The themes present in the Star Wars movies have long-lasting relevance too
From the political disputes in the galaxy that resemble the state of the U.S. today to the importance of hope and courage and the age-old battle of good and evil
