is this a previous edition i recently got the slide midnight there adjusters are midnight blue instead of silver must have updated

When the clips on the strap are down, is it supposed to still be possible to slide it? I just bought mine and both sides are the same. Is the clip just to make the sliding easier? They aren't actually locks?

Never had these quick release shoulder straps, can you say they are strong and can carry a heavy load gear?
