Imagine you’re the guy who wrote the OSHA handbook, went to sleep for 10k years, then woke up to find all construction workers now exalt it as their bible. Thats what Guilliman has to deal with every day

Sanguinious, and by extension his sons, knew darkness, he knew what he was capable of, and he kept it at bay with kindnes and humanity. Some of his brothers saw it as frivolousness and weakness, but in reality the man was fighting a constant battle against himself, to control his own destiny and keep his darkest part in check.
That's the best trait of the blood angels, one that was taught by their primarc when they were first reunited. The same trait that allowed mankind to raise from the mud. The determination to overcome one's base nature, and become someone better.

Considering that their geneseed makes them go permanently angry and insane if they get too excited by battle, yeah, I could understand why their chief doctor would be so important.

That Marine speaking to his captain in specifics is a dangerous one.

Low in mental strength and curiosity, he does not even seek out the history of Sanguinius’ sons and beseeches the name of one of the greatest primarchs as if it would not get him killed by one who knows better. If Gilliman had heard such tongue about the sons of the man who died defending the emperor against the greatest threat the imperium had ever faced, he would be very eager to not contain his rage.

Funny he should say that… who needs tactics when you can just kill your enemy? In terms of combat, blood angels are without a doubt the most dangerous.

For reference a single company of blood angels stormed the vengeful spirit. They were the only ones to teleport properly and they took over vast sways of the ship. Enough that they were able to punch their way through to the “main spinal” basically the last door, behind which would be Lupercal court.

After basically storming and crushing the defenses of the most dangerous place in the galaxy, they are faced with 8 companies of the most elite sons of Horus and word bearers, supported by thousands of elite auxiliary forces packed in a single room shoulder to shoulder. Mind you, this is still just against 1 company of blood angels.

Guess who won that fight? Blood angels massacred everyone in that room. They won. This was before the black rage hit…

After the black rage hit? They went to slaughter Abbadon and the elite forces he had brought… forces that were easily winning against Valdor, his custodies and Dorn. Guess what? Abbadon had to be dragged away by Erebus and the rest of sons of Horus had to retreat. :/

And afterall that, they went and retrieved their primearchs corpse and teleported out of the vengeful spirit. Lesson: shoot the vampires from afar and hope they don’t get close.

It's funny, during the HH (sourced from Sang's PRIMARCH novel) many of the then-loyalist legions had the same view of the Blood Angels. Too frilly, too pretty and the Angel was "Too Perfect". Its also funny how some of the surviving Luna Wolves (Terran unification era) knew the truth of the 9th legion long before they found their gene-father. Some even considered them "defective". Oh what a tangled web we weave with the sons of Baal.

If there's one legion/chapter I wouldn't want to face, it would def be the Blood Angels.

Listen man, I’m a Guilliman fan boy, I simp the G man and his sons but you don’t want the smoke with the Blood Angels. Let them do their arts and crafts and we all be very much better for it.

As a Dark Angel fan, I can see my parent chapter basically saying

Ultramarines? Stuck up arseholes but they can get the job done.
Imperial Fists? Stoic arseholes, I like 'em.
Blood Angels? Flashy arseholes but they have taste.
Raven Guard? Sneaky arseholes but if they want you dead, they will find a way.
Iron Hands? Miserable arseholes but I don't want to get in their way.
White Scars? Loud arseholes but they know how to have some fun.
Salamanders? Overly friendly arseholes but you can't really dislike them.
