I feel that harmony...that it is due to a relationship between mediants per minor thirds, and relative tonalities, it is practically generating the same tonal functions that it uses in the diatonic examples, moving to another relative tonality/mediant idea, more or less what is used in gospel, jazz and modern r&b. I imagine it as a kind of super extended modal exchange, not through parallel modes according to the rigid tonic but rather, through the inclusion of chords that come from modes that are not exactly parallel (in the original tonic) but related by minor thirds. If the Bártok axes have anything to do with it?, an extended harmonic system? Is something for thinking... interesant harmonic movements!🎉❤

All notes can go with all chords, all chords can go with any other chord, but a coherent structure underpinning it is what takes it from directionless babbling to compelling music with intentionality - and the structures that most people in the anglosphere are most familiar with are the ones you pick up in jazz and classical theory like this video so perfectly demonstrates!
